Graphic Novel - Collaboration with Fiilin Good Films

MiTale is all about stories that create enchanting memories for our players, and since the dawn of our studio, we have always embraced the idea of expanding our game worlds into other creative forms such as board games, books, comics, and graphic novels. Our successful Kickstarter campaign for C.L.A.Y. – The Moving City art book is a great example of that journey!

With the launch of Willow Guard this April, we took the next step in exploring cross-media development for one of our most beloved IPs. Since Willow Guard is deeply rooted in storytelling, it was only natural that our first expansions would be comics and a graphic novel. To celebrate the changing seasons, we have also introduced weekly comic strips that depict short, humorous glimpses into the charming and quirky world of Willow Guard.

The larger vision, however, is now coming to life! We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the incredibly talented team at Fiilin Good Films, led by Juha Fiilin, to bring the Willow Guard graphic novel into reality. This project marks the beginning of an ongoing collaboration that extends beyond graphic novels into animated short films/series. For us, this is not only a major step in our IP development strategy, but also offering our players and readers more stories to enjoy, regardless of the medium.

As storytellers, both MiTale and Fiilin Good Films share a common vision: to make the most of each medium’s unique strengths and artistic possibilities. Just as importantly, we want to give our creators the freedom to bring their own voices, styles, and passions into the work. We believe this openness nurtures curiosity and deepens the connection with our audience.
